Part-Time: Scheduling and Treatment Plan Coordinator

Our dental practice, located in Coronado, California, is searching for a new addition to our family for the front office.

This is a part-time position, Monday thru Thursday 8AM to 5PM.

The primary purpose of the Scheduling and Treatment Coordinator position is to maximize provider schedules, present the costs and details of treatment plans to patients and work with them to confirm insurance coverage and payment plans.

To be considered for our position you must have:

• At least 1 year of experience working front office
• Experience with insurance billing and treatment planning with indemnity and PPO insurances
• Experience with accounts receivable
• The desire to build and develop strong leadership skills
• The ability to work closely with doctor to strategize and build an awesome practice

Essential functions

• Schedule patient appointments in a timely manner in order to maintain full daily schedules and meet goals
• Monitor/track broken appointments
• Notify clinical staff of changes in schedules
• Act as liaison between clinician and patient
• Assist the doctor in helping patients to understand and accept recommended treatment and subsequently coordinate the treatment plan to work for both the patient and the dental office
• Submit treatment plan to insurance and calculate estimated coverage and patient portion
• At check-out, collect payment from patient in the form of cash, credit card or check
• Discuss financial options with patients and enter into computer appropriately
• Assist both front and back office staff to ensure top quality care for our patients
• Make sure production and hygiene schedules are optimized to meet our goals
• Submit claims and manage our account receivable
• Assist in performing “close out” procedures at the end of day
• Ability to independently run the office in the absence of the Lead
• Attend morning huddles
• Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records
• Abide by all PPE standards for administrative staff

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Customer Service experience

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the treatment coordinator is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, type and see. The treatment coordinator is occasionally required to stand.
