Primary Activities/Duties:
• Ensure labor and materials are present to meet schedule attainment.
• Ensure a quality product is assembled and packaged according to customer specifications and standards.
• Meet/exceed all targets for Quality, Productivity, Uptime, On-Time Delivery and Cost.
• Must be able to perform work content at every station per work instruction and to takt time.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment following 5S principles.
• Oversee cross training of assembly line workers; keep training matrix up-to-date.
• Track daily attendance & complete time sheets.
• Drive continuous improvement to achieve a World Class manufacturing environment through implementation of Rittal Production System (RPS).
• Interface with quality, engineering, buyer/planner to help resolve any production issues.
• Interface with internal suppliers (i.e. paint, fab) to resolve production issues.
• Actively participate in improving assembly operations; develop new ideas or methods to improve efficiency.
• Actively engage with peers, supervisors and management in creation of a positive workplace culture.
Knowledge & Experience:
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Must have prior assembly knowledge.
• Must be familiar with basic 5S concepts.
• Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure and have a high level of initiative – must be able to work with minimal oversight.
• Must also have excellent communication skills - ability to work well with all levels of employees, demonstrated attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
