This role is key in ensuring the successful execution of "run and maintain" projects and supporting turnaround operations by providing precise and timely engineering for repairs. The position serves as a liaison between operations, maintenance, reliability, and inspection teams, ensuring effective collaboration and operational excellence. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to task forces, incident investigations, and uphold strict adherence to company management of change processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, and the factors influencing the reliability of fixed equipment.
  • Collaborate with the inspections team to address and resolve Equipment Deficiency Reports (EDRs) effectively.
  • Manage and complete Management of Change (MOC) processes for assigned projects and units.
  • Maintain up-to-date process safety information for all MOCs.
  • Verify and finalize all engineering work packages, including special items, tie-in lists, line lists, and isometric drawings.
  • Participate in task forces and provide input on operational improvements as needed.
  • Assist with incident investigations and ensure thorough follow-through on action items.
  • Address Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) action items and provide resolutions as necessary.
  • Support field construction and resolve technical issues encountered during construction activities.
  • Assist with turnaround activities and contribute to planning and execution.
  • Participate actively in the area team environment, ensuring open communication and teamwork.
  • Physical ability to perform site-based work, including climbing ladders, working at heights using fall protection, and entering confined spaces with necessary safety equipment (e.g., respirators).
  • Ensure all commitments to stakeholders are completed promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace at all times.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in the oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or a similar industrial setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with generating field sketches, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and piping isometrics. Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals, including front-end engineering and project planning, is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, is essential.

Additional Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues and improving operational processes.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.

This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive Mechanical Engineer with experience in industrial operations, specifically in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
