We are seeking a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer to join our growing team and play a vital role in safeguarding nuclear materials while supporting the development of innovative enrichment systems.

What Youll Do

• Develop and maintain Criticality Safety Evaluations (CSEs) for fissile material operations.
• Conduct technical modeling and analysis using SCALE, MCNP, or equivalent platforms.
• Ensure alignment with DOE, NRC, and ANSI/ANS-8 series codes and standards.
• Support and participate in audits, safety assessments, and inspections.
• Collaborate across engineering, operations, and compliance functions to implement safety controls.
• Provide training and technical support to internal stakeholders.
• Investigate criticality safety concerns and develop corrective actions.
• Maintain comprehensive and compliant documentation for internal and external audits.

What Youll Bring

• Bachelors degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
• Working knowledge of 10 CFR Part 70, criticality safety standards, and nuclear fuel cycle regulations.
• Experience with modeling and simulation using platforms like SCALE or MCNP.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to make decisions with limited data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse technical teams.
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a DOE Q-Clearance (active clearance preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineering (ANSI/ANS-8.24).
• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or a plan to obtain one.
• Experience working in classified or high-pressure technical environments.
• A portfolio of successful past projects or innovative safety initiatives.
