We are currently seeking a passionate and engaging Principal Consultant in environmental consulting and remediation to join our growing team in Oakland, CA area or San Diego, CA area . The ideal candidate brings significant consulting experience and client trusted-advisor relationships, and will provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical support to enhance our California presence. As a senior leader, you will be fully accountable for successfully developing, managing, and consulting for a variety of clients, and will be supported by collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will: Serve as a key member of the California market leadership team to drive profitable growth of the environmental consulting business. Have a passion and demonstrated success for developing business with new clients and continuing to foster trusted relationships with existing clients. Personally engage in developing and executing strategic consulting work with identified existing and target clients. Direct and execute consulting projects, acting as the main client contact for work attained. Oversee the safe execution of all phases of a project to meet our client’s objectives, as well as company goals for revenue generation and profitability. Demonstrate strong technical competence in the services required by our clients. Manage all phases and aspects of projects to address client goals and objectives. Direct the execution of projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements. Mentor staff through a “learn-by-doing” model. Work cooperatively in a team-based environment.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, or environmental science. More than 15 years of experience in strategic environmental consulting. Proven client development experience and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in both private and public sector markets. Consistent track record, including successfully winning and managing large and strategic projects. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and “people” skills. Advanced knowledge of the local, state and federal regulatory landscape and proven negotiation skills with federal, state and local regulators. The salary range for this position in California is $163,000 - $251,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
