Role Overview:

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in progressing various projects through different stages. Your responsibilities will include designing, reviewing the work of other engineers, conducting research to understand unique conditions, and coordinating with project architects, other consulting engineers, and contractors. You will receive guidance and advice from fellow project managers and team leads to approach designs and tackle new challenges effectively.

Daily interactions with staff engineers will involve delegating tasks, whether design or drafting, based on their experience levels. You will also focus on developing their technical design skills and helping them understand how other disciplines impact structural design. Providing regular feedback to support their growth will be a key aspect of your role. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where you can make a significant impact on both projects and team development.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze structural components for commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated building designs.
  • Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure structural integrity and adherence to design plans.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for structural modeling and analysis.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on commercial building projects.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
